چکیده

Background Fever of unknown origin (FUO) is a diagnostic challenge in children, especially differentiation of systemic onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis (SOJIA), an autoinflammatory syndrome associated with uncontrolled activation of phagocytes. In this study, we analysed the relevance of myeloid related proteins 8 and 14 (MRP8, MRP14), two endogenous activators of toll-like receptor 4, for early diagnosis and pathogenesis of SOJIA.

Myeloid related proteins MRP8/MRP14 may predict disease flares in juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

OBJECTIVE An unsolved problem in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is to identify patients at special risk for relapse. It is important to adjust anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive therapy to the children's actual disease activity especially in times of remission. Our aim was to analyze if the serum levels of MRP8/MRP14 are reliable predictive markers for the risk of relapse in clinicall...

R202Q Mutation of Mediterranean Fever Gene in Iranian patients with Systemic-onset Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

Background: Systemic-onset Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (SoJIA) is an autoinflammatory disease with complex genetic trait starts in children less than 16 years of age with fever and cutaneous rash. Despite, the main genetic factors that may play a role in SoJIA have not yet been identified. High level of interleukin-1beta in the blood of SoJIA patients has been reported. The production and sec...

Methotrexate treatment in juvenile idiopathic arthritis: when is the right time to stop?

OBJECTIVES To investigate whether prolonged methotrexate (MTX) treatment after induction of remission influences the subsequent duration of remission in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), and to analyse the usefulness of myeloid related proteins 8 and 14 (MRP8/MRP14) as predictive markers for the stability of remission at the time when MTX is withdrawn. METHODS Twenty five pat...

PReS-FINAL-2216: Biomarkers MRP8/14 and S100A12 correspond with flare and remission clinical status in Sojia patients in the AID-NET register

Introduction Systemic onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis (SoJIA) shows properties of autoinflammatory disease, and requires the presence of arthritis and fever for diagnosis. The proinflammatory proteins MRP8/14 (S100A8/9) and S100A12 are biomarkers which have been shown to detect ongoing subclinical disease activity in patients with clinical remission. We compared the MRP8/14 (S100A8/9) and S...
